Though the weather may not seem like it now, the wet and rainy season is upon us and we need to be prepared for it. Also the snow season is coming and now is the time to get your car in order and prepared for those trips to the mountains. Below are some helpful tips and a checklist for driving in rainy or snowy conditions.

What if your car or truck could tattle on you to your insurance company? Or testify against you in court? What if information about your vehicle were considered as infallible as DNA evidence? Wouldn't you want to know?

I would, and so would Tim Leslie. The California state lawmaker has authored legislation that would require automakers to disclose to car buyers – in California, at least – if their new vehicles have electronic data recorders, called EDRs, that track vehicle and driver behavior in a crash.

It was just before noon on a rainy Saturday in January. A couple stopped into a local car dealership. A classic Jeep, orange, four-wheel drive, caught their eye and they decided to take it for a short test-drive. The mother sat on the passenger side and held her daughter in her lap. The man was driving down Don Julio Boulevard when he hit the center median, and the Jeep flipped. All three of the passengers were ejected from the car. The man sustained pelvic and spinal factures and a laceration to the back of his head. The woman had contusions to her hands and legs.

That's right. Most commercial carwashes use reclaimed (or recycled) water for every part of the carwash except for the rinse. And when fresh water is used for rinsing, carwashes use specially designed spay nozzles that maximize the rinse and minimizes the amount of fresh water used.
