Okay, I know I said that Christmas was my favorite time of year, but I think I forgot all about Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day. Maybe I can still keep Christmas and Thanksgiving as a favorite considering that Super Bowl Sunday isn’t really an official holiday! And well Valentine’s Day, that’ll just rank as my #2 favorite.

You’re right already - enough about my mixed up mind and me! That’s an entirely different column and possible enough for an entire issue of the North Highlands News!!

Last month we chatted about your choices of life and death. For those of you who chose life, I also hope you have chosen to have a good attitude about it!

My mother, Bingo Lena, is celebrating her 85th birthday this month.

She is truly an inspiration to me. I’ve always respected, appreciated, and loved my mom, but the past few years have brought me great joy and inspired me to have a great time getting older. I’ve been inspired to be passionate about what I do -- even the little things in life.

This put Rio Linda teachers as the most highly qualified among all 16 districts in Sacramento County.

By Patrice Broussard Frat parties, late night cram sessions and hanging out at the campus coffee house are pretty much par for the course for college students. What happens when the "average" college student is a middle-aged adult who has more to worry about than adjusting to college life?
